William is lovingly remembered by his daughter Joy Ganley (Stephen) of Warners; sons Matthew Wademan (Darlene Petta) of Camillus, Mark Wademan (Mary Lashomb) of Syracuse, Luke Wademan (Adrianna Hack) of Marietta, GA; and daughter April Neave of Brewerton. William was born in Syracuse, NY, in 1931 and attended Fairmont School in Camillus. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1950 and served in Germany during the Korean War. Sue and Bill were married in August 1955 at Fairmount Community Church and went on to raise 5 children together. Bill was a member of Teamsters Local 317 and drove for Roadway Express for 37 years. He plowed snow for many years and was a member of the Dexter American Legion. He was also a founding member of the Whitetail Hunting Lodge in Ithaca, NY.
His favorite times were spent at camp on Chaumont Bay, where he enjoyed boating and fishing as a young father. He also enjoyed golfing, fixing motors, and watching the stocks after his retirement in 1992. Bill and Sue spent many winters at Kove Estates in Osteen, Florida, with a lovely group of people, where he golfed and played cards with the guys. Their summers were always spent at camp, where they often welcomed family and friends to stay and visit.
William was a charter member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Camillus.
A private celebration of life will be held waterside at Chaumont Bay sometime in the future.
