Wayne Radley Obituary

Wayne Francis Radley, 75, of Barben Avenue Watertown, NY passed away Saturday, February 24th in Rome, NY.

Born September 6th, 1948 in Watertown, NY to the late H. Otis and Rosemary Bazinet Radley, Wayne was an avid reader, archer, and outdoorsman. Wayne graduated from Cape Vincent Central School in 1966, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University in 1970, and became licensed as a Professional Engineer in 1984. Wayne worked as a Civil Engineer for the NYS Department of Transportation for 25 years and then as a field inspector for various contractors. 

Wayne taught waterfowl hunting and archery courses for 38 years, he was a lifetime member and instructor of the National Field Archery Association, the NYS Field Archers and Bowhunters Association, the Pope & Young Club, and Secretary for the Federated Sportsmen’s Clubs of Jefferson County. He held various officer positions throughout the years and had been a sports editor and columnist for “On Target” for the New York Field Archers and Bowhunters, Wayne achieved the title of master Archer.

Wayne is survived by his wife Mary Wheeler Burns Radley of Watertown, NY, his son Andrew (Tina) Radley of Central Square, NY, and Grandsons Garrett and Brandon. He is also survived by eight siblings, Joseph Radley of Williamsport, PA, Donna (Larry) Grant of Cape Vincent, NY, David (Brenda) Radley of Henderson, NY and Mount Dora, FL, Dawn (Dick) Dana of Albany, NY, Nancy Radley of Shelburne, VT, William (Lisa) Radley of Clifton Park, NY and Marcos Island, FL, James (Diane) Radley of Cape Vincent, NY and Marcia (Michael) Gadway of Poultney, VT, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Wayne was predeceased by his parents H. Otis and Rosemary Bazinet Radley.

Wayne was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church of Watertown, NY.

Calling hours will be held at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Cape Vincent, NY on Saturday, April 20th from 9:30 AM to 11 AM with a funeral mass following.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at PO Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 32116-7023.
