Rejean Roux Obituary

Rejean H. Roux, age 86, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Rejean was born on February 18, 1939 in Parisville, Quebec, to Carmelle Badeau and Wilfrid Roux. He was one of 12 children. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Suzette, Carolle, Camil, Michelle, Collette, and many wonderful in-laws, cousins and one nephew.

Rejean spent his early years in Canada before moving to Watertown, New York. He married his love, Huguette (Lemay) in 1963. Rejean and Huguette created a loving family: Nancy (Dan Behan); Lisa (Terry Zehr); Rejean (Amy) Roux; Nicole (Mike Stratton).

Rejean’s trucking career spanned 40 years. He was a dedicated and hard-working employee who enjoyed driving his 18-wheeler. He had fun playing hockey in the Old-Timers League for many years until an injury side-lined him. He filled his retirement with family time. He travelled to Canada often and made sure to keep his pool immaculate and his children’s lawns mowed. He loved helping people. He and Huguette rarely missed a grandchild’s game or show. Brian Zehr (Elizabeth); Aaron Behan (Rosie); Jordan Zehr; Bridget Behan (Ben); Jacob C. Roux; Ben Stratton (Ally); Collin Zehr; Sarah Roux; and Simon Stratton. He was so proud of his family, and they loved him dearly. He was especially excited to welcome his first great-grandchild,
Finnegan Roux Zehr.

Rejean is also survived by his siblings: Renald (Carmel) Roux; Denise Venery; Marcel (Diane) Roux; Pierrette Roux; Gilles Roux; and Daniel (Danielle) Roux; sister-in-law Raymonde, and numerous loved ones.


Rejean’s life was filled with family, love and hard work. He welcomed family and friends to his home in Watertown and his winter retirement home in Florida. He always wanted to know how soon you were coming back. Rejean was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Anthony’s Church. He was very grateful for his fulfilling family and work life.
