Patricia Gilmore Obituary

Patricia W. Gilmore, 77, of Cape Vincent, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home of Cape Vincent.

Patricia was born on August 9, 1948, in Watertown, New York, the daughter of Donald and Margaret (Maloney) Wiley.

A lifelong resident of the North Country, Patricia graduated from Cape Vincent High School in 1966 and Central City Business Institute in 1968.  In her early years she worked in admissions at St. Lawrence University and then Mercy Hospital before she built over a 50-year career at Citizens Bank of Cape Vincent.  During her tenure she achieved the distinction of President/CEO and Chairman of the Board.

Patricia was married to the love of her life, Michael Gilmore and they shared 39 years together.  She truly had a passion for her banking career, shared numerous years filled with happy memories with family, friends and lots of traveling.  She especially enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City where she could relax and escape the demands of life.

Patricia is survived by her loving daughter, Amy (Richard) Hanson of Dexter; her brother, Frederick Wiley of Cape Vincent; her sister, Sally (Peter Cimalluca) Wiley of North Syracuse; her grandchildren, Lindsay (Chelsea) Hanson-VanTassel of Dexter and Benjamin (Darby) Hanson of LaFargeville; and her great-grandchildren, Viviann Hanson-VanTassel, Colter Hanson, Dax and Nellie Shaw as well as two nieces Cheryl & Julie and nephews Philip and Christian she held dear to her heart.

In addition to her husband, Michael, Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Margaret Wiley, and her sister, Janet Jackling.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, at St. Vincent of Paul Church in Cape Vincent. Burial will immediately follow in the parish cemetery.

Following the burial, all are welcome to join the family for a Celebration of Life at the John C. Londraville American Legion Post 832 in Cape Vincent to share memories and honor Patricia's life.
