Korleen Marie Gillette

Our loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away Thursday, February 8th surrounded by her adoring family. Korleen Marie Gillette was born on August 5, 1961, in Depauville, N.Y. to parents Marjorie Gillette (Bierman) and Donald Buford Gillette.

Korleen’s children and grandchildren were the absolute light of her life. She loved clipping coupons, crossword puzzles, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Mom could solve a puzzle with one letter on the board. This was always frustrating to her family, and she was often told to give the rest of us a chance. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy of all. She was never late or would come empty handed. One of mom’s notorious gifts, when you greeted her, was to provide you with coupons she clipped from the newspaper or to give you goodies from her stockpile, just one of the many ways she showed her care and affection. She always had a delightful story of how the store paid her to shop.

Korleen was also notorious for having a sweet tooth and spoiling those she loved. She was also not one to stay idle. She always said you are as young as you feel. She always felt 25 years old. She always had a twinkle in her eye when she talked about those she loved. She will be greatly missed by so many of the people who loved her. Although her departure has left us in great pain, we can be at ease knowing that she will be waiting at the gate. She will not be late or come empty-handed. A graveside burial will be held at Felts Mills Cemetery in the Spring. She will be remembered for her kind, caring and loving nature and the way she so effortlessly touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
