Isabella Gibson (Gardiner) Binsley

Binsley, Isabella G. - Age 103, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Samaritan Keep Home where she was a resident for six years. Isabella was born May 17, 1921 in OldMeldrum, Scotland, daughter of Andrew and Mary Gardiner. She was a nurse during WWII, and worked in two hospitals outside of London, England. She married Edwin (Ted) Binsley on February 6, 1943 and they shared 56 years together. She and her family moved to Cape Vincent in May 1964 from England.

She is survived by 2 sons, Peter (Judy) Binsley, Montross, VA, Andrew (Wendy) Binsley, Cape Vincent and two daughters Sheila (Robert) White, Cape Vincent and Eileen (Gerald) Cummings, Michigan, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Isabella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin, and her sister Elsie.

Our mum enjoyed spending every moment she could with her family. She was a life-long member of the United Church of Cape Vincent and a member of the Christian Women’s Society. She enjoyed her knitting group and many a time was asked to help someone with their knitting projects. 

A Memorial Service will be held on April 26th at 11 AM at the United Church of Cape Vincent.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Isabella’s name to The United Church of Cape Vincent.
