Ida E. (Smith) Morehouse

WATERTOWN, NY- Ida E. Morehouse, 94, resident of Samaritan Keep Home and formerly of Dexter, NY, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont, NY.

Ida was born on March 11, 1926 in Ellisburg, NY to the late Floyd and Ethel (Williams) Smith.

Ida married Walter Duprey, whom passed away in 1956. She then married Ruben Morehouse in Sackets Harbor on April 18, 1969. Rueben passed away in 1989.

She worked for many years with Ruben at northland electric. She loved watching sports of any kind but her favorite was the New York Yankees. Ida was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dexter.

Ida is survived by her son; William and Laureen Duprey, Pillar Point, and a stepson; Rueben Paul and Carol Morehouse, Cartersville, GA, a brother; Gerald Smith, Evans Mills, four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husbands, she is predeceased by her brothers; Ralph Smith, Clarence Smith, and Michael Smith, and her sisters; Elma, Mildred Davis, and Elsie Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dexter Fire Dept. and Ambulance at 101 Locke St, Dexter, NY 13634.
