Gail Hanlon Obituary

WEST SENECA, NY- Gail A. Hanlon, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2020 with her family by her side. After a courageous five year battle with cancer, Gail passed away under the care of the Buffalo Hospice Facility in Cheektowaga, NY.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown, NY.

Gail was born on September 23, 1937 in Watertown, NY to the late Andrew and Dorothy Martin Clement. She attended Watertown High School and Cazenovia College.

After college she became a legal secretary. Although she spent many years of her life working in this field, taking time to raise her three daughters was her priority.

In 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, Brian Hanlon. Brian worked for Niagara Mohawk. Brian and Gail lived in many places throughout New York State including Syracuse, Oswego, Fulton, Saranac Lake and then returned to the Syracuse area until they both retired. After retirement, they spent many enjoyable years in Ormond Beach, Florida, at the Streamside Golf Course in Pulaski, New York, and in Buffalo, New York. Gail enjoyed cooking, gardening, collecting antiques, crafting, painting, and golfing.

Family was everything to Gail. She loved just spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Gail, with the assistance of her husband Brian, crafted a family atmosphere of fierce love and devotion that will transcend through generations of grandchildren, all who were and continue to be inspired by the example she set.

Gail is survived by her husband, Brian, and three daughters, Debbie (Tim) Reilly, Amy (Dave) Webb, and Tricia (Jeremy) Applegate. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Mike (Amanda), Nate (Corinne), Sarah (Joe), Erica (Christian), Amanda, Emily and Evan, two greatgrandchildren, Aiden and Asher, one loving sister, Muriel Leonard, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Tom, Mac, and Andy, Jr. Clement.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 29, from 3-5 PM with a Memorial Service immediately following at 5 PM.
