Fay “nan” Bendixen, 72, of Watertown, New York passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Samaritan Medical Center.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, in Watertown, NY.
Fay was born June 10, 1953, in Portland, Maine to Henry and Donna (Scott) Bendixon. Fay fought with all her strength and with so much love against her battle with cancer. Fay was always a devoted mother and grandmother who acted as a role model to her loving family.
Fay had her first child, her daughter, Sherry, at the age of 16. Fay had to grow up very fast and within the few years that followed she had her two sons, Perry and Jayson. Fay worked as a clerk at the DMV office in Portland before she became a stay-at-home mom. Fay enjoyed music, gardening, and most family games like Monopoly and Skip Bo. She loved playing card games with all her grandchildren. Fay loved being close to her children. She had a passion for singing. She would often sing to her children when they were restless. Fay also had a passion for crocheting. Her family will think of her during cold winters with warm mittens and soft blankets she had gifted over the years. Fays warm embrace could make the whole world a better place. She always had the best hugs. Fay gave up on many of her own dreams to keep those of us close to her safe; always making sure we were well taken care of. Fay would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. For such a small woman she could really stand her ground. She could be fierce and she could cuss like the best of us. Fay focused so much on her family.
Fay is survived by her children, Perry and Joyce LeClair of Watertown, NY, Jayson and Shirley LeClair of Adams, NY, and a very special guy who was like a son to Fay since we were kids, Scott LaQuay, Watertown, NY
