Duane Joseph Kempney of Pillar Point (Dexter, NY) passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Duane was born in 1945 to Hannah (Flood) and Cyril Kempney of Carthage, NY. He graduated high school at the Augustinian Academy there. He joined the United States Air Force in 1962 and served until his retirement in 1983. He met his wife, Gail (Anderson) in 1975 while stationed at Charleston Air Force Base, SC. Together they lived in Charleston, SC; Athens, Greece; and Scott Air Force Base, IL prior to moving to Pillar Point, NY.
Duane is survived by his wife Gail, his daughters Beth Davidson (John) and Valerie Little (John); grandsons Nick, Matt and Joshua Dow; granddaughter Christianna Davidson; great-grandsons Brayden, Cade and Tristan Dow. He is also survived by his siblings Sister Mary Rita, Pete (Byron) Kempney, his twin Dwight Kempney and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hannah and Cyril; his sisters Vada Webb, Nancy Sweeney and Joan Antonelli; his nephews Kyle Kempney and Mark Antonelli and close friend and nephew Kenny Hanson.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial for Duane in July at his Pillar Point Home.
