Donald G. Ring Jr.

Donald G. Ring Jr. 79, of Watertown, NY was heralded into the arms of our Lord and Savior on Thursday January 11, 2024. He passed away peacefully at home. 

Born November 1, 1944 in Adams Center, New York. Donald Ring was the son of Donald G.Sr. and Lillian Ring. Brother to Marilyn Geiger.

After graduating General Brown High school, Don joined the United States Navy. He served from 1965 to 1969 as a Machinist Mate on the USS Okinawa. After an honorable discharge Don was married to the love of his life Bonnie on October 3, 1970 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Watertown, NY.

Don was predominantly a truck driver through his work career in providing and caring for his wife and four children. Don loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. He was a gentle giant with a generous heart. He was a man full of compassion, kindness and giving help to those in times of need. 

He was predeceased by his wife Bonnie Ring. Don is survived by his children, Donald G. Ring III and Betsy of Chaumont NY, Dawn E. Ring of Hopewell Junction, NY, David L. Ring Watertown, NY and Donna J. Klimowicz of Gouverneur, NY. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren Robbie, Allie, Vickie, Olivia and Sophia Klimowicz. Austin and Andrew Ring and Russell Clarke. Surviving is a sister Marilyn Geiger of Mt. Airy, NC., along with numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Services will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church in Watertown, NY on Saturday January 20, 2024 at 11:00 am with a light meal to follow afterwards. 

Pastor Lee Picket will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don Ring's memory and directed to Fellowship Baptist Church, 20022 NY Rt 3 Watertown NY 13601 or to Hospice of Jefferson County.
