Bradford C. Gifford

Bradford Coombs Gifford, 81, of Three Mile Bay, NY passed away on January 29,2026.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, in Chaumont, NY.

Brad was born January 6,1945, to Reverend L. Grenfall and Helen (neé Seely) Gifford, in Ossining, NY. The family moved to Three Mile Bay in 1949, where Brad spent most of his life, until his residence at the Samaritan Keep Home.

He joined the Navy as a young man. He then became a long-haul, cross-country truck driver. He also drove taxi on Fort Drum and operated the CB shop at Longway’s Truck Stop. His CB handle was “Gray Beard”. In his later years he hauled hay for various local farmers.

Brad loved singing, bluegrass, church. He was a Ham Radio operator as well as an avid reader. Brad meant many things to many people.

On January 24,1966 he married Nadja (neé Fedorow) Gifford in Chattanooga, TN.

He is survived by his wife Nadja, 9 Children; Cynthia-CO; Nadine, AK; Brad, MI; Andrej (Charlyn)- Auburn, NY; Kirsten (Fred)- Plessis, NY; Aurora ( Jeriah)- MI; Enid ( Brian)- LaFargeville,NY; Aleksandr ( Lynette)- IN and Charles- IN; 25 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Majken Mathis and Edris Perdue Sowder ( Tod ) both of Virginia, as well as many nephews and nieces.

Brad is predeceased by his parents; his brothers Reuel and Erik “Arne” Gifford ,3 grandchildren Mark, Logan and Jesse, his 2 brothers-in-law Frankie Perdue and Skip Mathis, as well as his nephew Jeffery LaVere.

Internment and graveside service will be in the spring, date and time to be determined, at the Three Mile Bay Cemetery.
