Annette Honey (Finer) Katzman

Annette “Honey” Katzman, 95, of Watertown, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 30, at Samaritan Summit Village.
Mrs. Katzman was the voice behind the scenes, answering phones and scheduling appointments long before cell phones for Soft Water by George which was owned and operated by her husband, George, and then her son, Neil.
Born April 12, 1929, in Utica, she was the daughter of Samuel and Ethel Goldhart Finer. She graduated from Utica Free Academy High School.
She married George M. Katzman Oct. 29, 1950, in Utica. Mr. Katzman passed away February 8, 2008.
She was a member of Degel Israel Synagogue and a lifetime member of Hadassah.
Surviving her is a son and his companion, Neil Katzman and Pattie Schreck, Watertown; two daughters, Jody Kassel and her companion Stephen Schreiman, Atlanta, GA; and Amy and her husband Jeff Asher, Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Dr. Rachel Kassel, Jacob Kassel, Gabriel Kassel, Carrie Kay, and Stacey O’Connor; nine great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, George Katzman, and three siblings, Ruth Schoner, Ben Finer, and Charlie Finer.
Her family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at Meadowbrook Assisted Living, and the nurses on the 3 South, at Samaritan Summit Village.

A service according to Jewish custom will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, Nov. 3, at Degel Israel Synagogue, with burial following at the Degel Israel Cemetery.
