Angelo Augustine Obituary

Angelo M. Augustine, age 70 of Watertown, passed away on Friday January 2, 2026 at his home under the care of Jefferson County Hospice following a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

Angelo is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Michele Dasno Augustine; his devoted daughter, Jamie Augustine, and her companion, Jamie Layton, of Watertown; his brother, Peter Augustine, and nephew, Jason Augustine, also of Watertown; along with many cherished nieces and nephews. He is also lovingly remembered by his beloved grand-dog Bowie. He was predeceased by his mother, Rosemary Hewitt Augustine; his sister, Connie Augustine Lane; and his brother-in-law, John Lane; as well as his sister-in-law, Melissa Dasno-Burr of Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

Born on March 14, 1955, in Watertown, New York, Angelo was the son of the late Rosemary Hewitt Augustine. He married the love of his life, Michele Dasno, on February 25, 1978, in a ceremony officiated by his close friend and Justice, David Bonney.

A devout Christian, Angelo loved the Lord deeply and lived according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. His faith was reflected not in words, but in actions—through generosity, humility, and a kind, non-judgmental spirit. He lived a giving life and treated everyone with compassion and respect.

Angelo spent his working years operating and repairing production machinery for several Watertown-area companies, including Canada Dry/7Up, L&H Development, and Kelsey Creek Apartment Complex. In the 1990s, he developed a strong interest in computers and took great pride in learning how to operate, repair, and build them.

Music was another lifelong passion. Angelo began playing guitar at age 10 and later performed in several local bands in the 1970s, including Ray John and the Wanderers, Hot Shot, and Dusty Sweet, experiences that brought him great joy. He had a deep love of music, a passion he proudly shared with his daughter.

Angelo will be remembered for his unwavering faith, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. His legacy of kindness and grace will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Donations in Angelo’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
