Philip R. Wiley, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Rochester, NY surrounded by family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home Inc., Cape Vincent, NY.
Philip was born on September 6, 1933 in Cape Vincent to the late Leonard and Emily (Blume) Wiley.
Along with his parents, Philip is predeceased by his wife Carolyn and siblings Sister Mary Louise Wiley, Charles Wiley, Father John Wiley, Donald Wiley and Anna (Wiley) Sullivan.
Philip is survived by his children; Andrew (Ginette) Wiley, Spencerport, NY, and Mary Lou (Wiley) Mousseau, South Windsor, CT; grandchildren Patrick, Cody, Lindsay, Ava and Dalton; brothers Harold (Doris) and James (Janet) Wiley and many, many nieces and nephews.
Philip was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1952 after serving in the Korean war. He retired from Eastman Kodak company after 42 years.
He was an active member of the Ferris-Goodridge American Legion Post #330 in Spencerport NY. He was also involved in the John C. Londraville Post #832 in Cape Vincent, NY which through their generosity was able to take part in the Honor Flight mission 7 on 10/1/2016 along with his brothers Harold and James.
On Saturday 2/16 please meet the family at St. Vincent of Paul Church, Cape Vincent, NY for his Funeral Mass at 11 AM. There will be a spring burial at St. Vincent of Paul Cemetery in Cape Vincent, NY to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to John C. Londraville American Legion in Cape Vincent or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
