Jean G. (Allen) Bamford

BALDWINSVILLE, NY- Jean G. Bamford, 87, of Legacy Drive, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Upstate Community Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown, NY.

Jean was born in Watertown, NY on July 15, 1931 to Cecil and Annie (Branson) Allen. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1949, after school Jean became a registered nurse and worked for House of Good Samaritan in Watertown from 1952-1994.

On December 4, 1954, Jean married the love of her life, Hilton M. Bamford. Hilton passed away in 1962. 

Jean belonged to the House of Good Samaritan Alumnae Association, Samaritan Loyals, and was a communicant of Trinity Church.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Karen (Mike) Moran, a niece, Debra Austin, four grandchildren; Lucas Bamford, Gwendolyn Bamford, Adrienne (Anthony) Vargas, Eleanor Bamford, two great grandchildren; Jesus Vargas and Mirabel Vargas, and cousins in Canada and England.

Along with her parents and husband, Jean is predeceased by a son, Timothy Bamford, and a brother and sister-in-law, John T. and Audrey Allen.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 2, from 1-4PM at Cleveland Funeral Home, 404 Sherman St., Watertown, NY, 13601. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 11AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 227 Sherman St., Watertown, NY, 13601 with burial following at Glenwood Cemetery.
