CHAUMONT- Darwin F. Paro, 79, of County Route 8, passed away on Saturday June 1st, 2019 at Samaritan Medical Center with family by his side. Arrangements have been entrusted to Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home Inc., Chaumont.
Darwin was born on February 8th, 1940 to the late Ezeb Paro and Lizzie Forte.
Darwin attended the local schools in Watertown, and then served in the United States Army, before becoming a mechanic and welder for Anchor Motor Freight on Wellesley Island.
Darwin was fire police for the Chaumont Fire Department. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
Darwin is survived by his loving wife Judith, his children: Tammy (Brian) DeCilles, Dexter, NY, Frank Pettey, Chaumont, NY, and William Pettey, Chaumont, NY. He is also survived by his brothers: Keith Paro, Homer, NY, and Harley (Ruth) Paro, Adams, NY, His grandchildren: Logan Pettey, Tabetha Petersen, and Amanda Chapman, along with two great-grandchildren: Cierra and Tyler Chapman, and several nieces and nephews.
Darwin is predeceased by his siblings: Peter Paro, Carl Paro, Perry Paro, Franklin Paro, Allan Paro, Kenny Paro, and Betty Paro.
Calling hours will be from 4pm-8pm on Tuesday June 4th, 2019 at Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home Inc., Chaumont. A memorial mass will be at 11am Wednesday June 5th, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Brownville, NY.
